Restoration of Volume Depletion:
The best way to guess a person’s age is to look at their hands, not at their face. Although an effective skincare regimen and facial cosmetic procedures might help you look years younger than you really are, the wrinkly skin, prominent veins, and dark spots on the back of hands might be telling a different story. Once the fat layer is depleted, replacing the volume in the backs of hands can rejuvenate them and help cover the color and prominence of veins.
Radiesse and Restylane Plus are two fillers that have received FDA approval for this procedure. Other fillers such as Juvederm and Vollure can also be used off label. This procedure can restore a more youthful look and feel to your hands. Results are immediate and can last up to a year.
Sweating of Hands:
Sweating of the palms of hands, also known as palmar hyperhidrosis, can be a social deterrent due to self consciousness and avoidance of handshakes. 25 to 75 units of muscle relaxant such as Botox, or it's equivalent in Dysport can decrease sweating in this region. The procedure involves numbing cream/injection and ice application, followed by application of the product which takes about 10 minutes. Results are noticeable after about one week and can last about 6 months (individual results vary.)
Similar procedure can be applied to underarms for sweating of the arm pits, called axillary hyperhidrosis.
