Sweating Of Hands

Sweating of the palms of hands, also known as Palmar Hyperhidrosis, can be a social deterrent due to self-consciousness and avoidance of handshakes.  25 to 75 units of muscle relaxant such as Botox, or it's equivalent in Dysport can decrease sweating in this region.  The procedure involves numbing cream/injection and ice application, followed by application of the product which takes about 10 minutes.  Results are noticeable after about one week and can last about 6 months (individual results vary).  Similar procedure can be applied to underarms for sweating of the arm pits, called Axillary Hyperhidrosis.

Severe underarm sweating, also known as severe primary Axillary Hyperhidrosis, is a condition in which the body sweats more than it has to in order to regulate body temperature. The severity of the condition is based on the extent it interferes with your daily activities. Some of our patients seek treatment due to the social embarrassment they may feel or the permanent stain their perspiration leaves behind on their clothing.
