Yes, you read that correctly. A small amount of Botox can be used to not only diminish and prevent lip lines, but to volumize the lip size. As explained above, Botox in this area has pros and cons. The pros to this procedure are that it can act as "speech therapy" to teach us to speak without over-utilizing these muscles (this can have long term benefits), it is inexpensive (minimal units of botox are necessary), it decreases the lip lines, and it also has a volumizing effect on lip size & shape. The cons are that the muscle effect only lasts about 6 weeks, it can make the lips feel a little bit numb (pronouncing the letters B and P will be softer), and that drinking from a straw will be difficult (which can actually be considered a benefit).

These are the lines that extend from the corners of the lips towards jaw line. They are not just corner of the mouth.
(Corner Of The Mouth) are long vertical wrinkles that traverse from the corners of the lips to the chin. The name is derived from Marionette puppets that have faces with long vertical creases. These creases could give a grim or sad look to the face. These lines occur with age, smoking and genetics and can progress to form jowls later on. It is possible to lift these corners with dermal filler by adding volume and anchoring the corners higher up. Procedure time is only 5 minutes.
There might be bruising or swelling, so maybe say most of the time there’s no downtime (especially if we use cannula). Procedure time is around 30 minutes and there is no downtime. TREATING LIP LINES WITH BOTOX:

Since much of lip lines are due to hyperactivity of the Orbicularis Oris muscle (responsible for pursing the lip around a straw, or cigarette), the decreased lip contraction can help soften the creases and avoid the etching of the folding lines into the skin. To start with, the most accepted ratio for natural looking lip proportion is a 1/3 upper lip to 2/3 lower lip ratio, except for African Americans where a 1 to 1 ratio is more common. In younger individuals, the lip border and philtrum column are usually well defined and injecting them can create a protruded "duck" appearance. On the other hand, as we get older, we lose the definition of the lips and the "white roll" around them. Enhancement in these areas as well as the cupids bow can have a natural outcome without the overdone look. TREATING LIP LINES WITH NOVATHREADS, MICRONEEDLING, AND LASERS:
Thickening and firming up the skin is treating the actual problem as opposed to camouflaging it. However, this is the slowest process of all alternatives. Since we cannot yet inject elastin and collagen into the outer layer of the skin, we need to stimulate the skin to reproduce these proteins.
